mount wasn't working properly, so I rebooted....and when I boot back up, I try and get this.
Code: | deepthought root # mount /mnt/cdrom
mount: special device /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 does not exist |
Any idea what could have happened? This is a major bummer. |

Are ide-cd and cdrom support compiled in the kernel or as modules? If you've got them as modules, make sure they're loaded. _________________ Music is the Answer |

Which kernel are you using? Did the cdrom work before? |

Well, running dmesg might give you some indication what might be going on. Does the computer run another OS? Perhaps testing the drive with another OS could rule out a hardware failure.
Hope this helps.

Well, it seems as though its not the OS. Yes, it was working before. I put the side of my case on, About 20 minutes, later, when I wanted to use it, it didn't work. All I can assume is that I bumped something. When I'm not tired I'll check out the internals of the case. Till then |
