Is it safe to clean this directory, I assume that because its in /tmp/portage its only tempory files.
The long and the short of it is I want to reclaim the 16GB of space that this directory is taking up.
It might be nice to write some documentation of directories a user can clean to reclaim there HDD space. Or are linux users on the whole a messy bunch who never clean up after them. |

Yes, it's safe to delete those temporary files. There are multiple forum posts about this, and it is in the documentation, so please check there before posting. _________________ Cheers,
