hi mayday,
try emerging net-im/linpopup. it's using samba to send messages to windows boxes.
best regards,
marc
otherwise you can use kopete. imho there is a plugin to send those messages _________________ debian: stable but lame! suse: unstable and lame! gentoo: stable and only 4 geeks!

I believe you are looking for:
Code: | smbclient -M computername -U username |
The -M option tells smbclient to send a message to the computer "computername" and the -U option tells smbclient to send it from "username" (if you wish to change the sender name).
More details available in:
as mentioned before. _________________ May contain traces of nuts. |
