Today I'm trying to install my sound server on a 2.4 kernel, so i need to identify my sound driver, so i can get the right driver...
But i can't seem to identify me chipset

The manual describes it as a T-bird chipset for a socket A processor

And the PCI info for sound gives : SiS PCI Audio Accelerator (rev02)

Annybody out there who can help me?

Go to your motherboard manufacturer's web site and look up the motherboard -- that should tell you exactly what chipsets and things of that nature are used. If you can do that for us, chances of finding the appropriate sound driver for your audio card are greatly improved. :-)

It appears that all SiS chipsets use the intel 8x0 driver. Found in the kernel documentation /usr/src/linux-2.6.6/Documentation/sound/alsa/ALSA-Configuration.txt

Well Bert! There you are! Just use the snd-intel8x0 driver and you'll be all set! :) Good catch curtis!
