|
|
Anyone done any testing of the different available ATI drivers to see which have the best performance in gl/sdl games (or have a link to any information)?
I've seen some older posts elsewhere claiming the 3.2.8 version is the one to go with, but none of them took into account any versions newer than 3.7.0, I believe.
TIA. |

yep 3.2.8 is still faster at least on my amd.Notice that ati has disabled mmx for 3.7.0 and above in order to solve a bug on amd systems or sth ( now this is the way to approach a bug !) _________________ psofa |

I couldn't get the 3.2.8 running on my 2.6 kernel. So I tool the 3.7.6 and now the 3.9.0 one, but i didn't noticed any speed differences....

If you discount the older 2.9.x versions, then 3.2.8 is the fastest for me (including all later versions up to 3.9.0). _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra

I was getting some annoying, though not fatal, artifacts in Enemy Territory using both the 3.2.8s and the 3.9s. Any thoughts as to what this might be? At first it looks like nasty tearing, but I can set vertical sync and get the exact same results. It's just annoying. Any help? _________________ Bollenator

No wonder 3.2.8 is still the latest stable driver available. _________________ CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
