Is there a listing anywhere where these chips XII, ICH, etc. are used? I've been googling, but found nothing. |

Yep: In the kernel
If it is an Intel based chipset then it is supported... _________________ Punk is an attitude

Do I still need to use the generic chipset and generic PCI chipset support, or does this option fully cover this? |

Which kernel are you looking at?
In a 2.6 kernel that has support for your chipset, do not select "Generic PCI IDE Chipset Support". Select "Generic PCI bus-master DMA support" and then your chipset. _________________ Punk is an attitude

There are two generic options:
"generic/default IDE chipset support" and "Generic PCI IDE Chipset Support"
Which do you mean, or both? What's the difference? |

Eh, I see your point
If you got drivers in the kernel for your chipset then you can skip both of those. I have read that people that have added this to their kernel as well as their own chipset have gotten worse performance than when they don't include that stuff at all. _________________ Punk is an attitude
