Hey all,
I have a strange problem with my laptop. I am trying to connect to the local network of my school. When I boot under Windows, DHCP works perfectly well. When I boot under Gentoo, DHCP does not work: the DHCP look-up times out and my card is not assigned any address.
Two days ago DHCP worked perfectly well on my own local network both under Windows and Gentoo so I am not sure what's going on. (I will try DHCP on my LAN again tonight to see if it still works under Gentoo).
Do you guys have any idea of what might be the problem? I am not sure whether it comes from my side or from the DHCP server in my school. |

Looks like I was just not being patient enough. It takes 15-20 seconds but it actually works. I thought it was not working because I was not thinking that it might take some time under windows too but that it would not make it hang. |
