Hi all!

I'm trying to use the aMSN messenger on my Gentoo and it works well, but I've got a problem: I can receive files without a problem but, when I try to send a file, it says that the connection was accepted by the receiver, but on the receiver it says that the file has timed out. What can I do?

Are the correct ports open on both ends? ie do the firewalls allow traffic through at both ends, and are the right ports forwarded to the correct pc if you're using NAT.

I've tried to modify my iptables allowing connections by ports 6891 and 6892, but it still not working. I don't know if my houter blocks connections on this ports, but the Windows MSN works well on my network. I have had a error message from sox:

Code:
sox: Unknown output file format for '/dev/dsp': File type 'ossdsp' is not known

but I think this don't have nothing with the problem, because sox is about sounds, not file transfers. In addition, the program says me that the receiver has accepted the file transfer request, but on the other side it says that the file transfer request has timed out...[/list]

Open it on your router.

Windows uses a different way, that is compatible with NAT, so you don't have to open a port on your router.

aMSN does not however.
