Dopo l'ennesima reinstallazione ho di nuovo emerso gli ati-drivers e caricando il modulo fglrx mi beccava il solito segfault. Allora ho smergiato e ho tentato il tutto per tutto: ho installato i 3.9.0. Come per magia nessun segfault e finalmente glxinfo mi dice che il DRI è correttamente attivato. Devo capire perché però almeno funziona.
Sappiamo però che in quanto a prestazioni i 3.9.0 sono inferiori ai 3.7.6-r1. Nella fattispecie, con glxgears, ottengo circa 400~500 fps il che è un risultato rispettabile ma comunque abbastanza pietoso. Ma, come si dice, piuttosto che niente è meglio piuttosto.
Ora... si può fare qualcosa? C'è qualche trucchetto per spingere un po' i fps? Al momento non posso postare xorg.conf ed amenità varie perché sto da un altro PC. Magari più tardi provo ad installare gli extras così vedo se dal pannello si può spingere qualcosa. Voi avete qualche idea o consiglio? Vanno bene anche topic, purtroppo ora sto un po' preso e non posso mettermi a cercare e poi sto anche compilando KDE |

Sì, i 3.2.8 manco partivano... un altro po' ed era meglio l'opengl di xorg-x11 |

Io avevo lo steso problema, ed era dovuto ad una opzione del kernel che avevo abilitato user register argument che in caso di moduli binari da il segfault, tolta l'opzione e' tornato a fungere tutto ati 9600 triplex kernel 2.6.6 _________________ mount -t brain /dev/brain /body/skull |

A quanto ho capito tu usi Ati radeon + xorg..mi servirebbero delle info..che kernel usi ?
Se il 2.6.5 mi puoi dire come hai abilitato i driver Ati e l'accelerazione 3d?
Non ce l'ho ancora fatta..

Ho gia seguito la guida..ma purtroppo non è stata sufficente..sopo aver creato il nuovo file di conf del server X con:
