Can't do mount with -o iocharset=iso8859-8,codepage=862

I can't mount a file sytem (vfat) with -o iocharset=iso8859-8,codepage=862, I get "invalid paramters" error. This is weird because I DID compile suport for these two into the kerenl (gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.5-r1, self compiled).
Without these options the file system mounts with no problems.

Dose any one have a clue :?:

Hi,

Sorry can't help you wolf_99 but, if it's any consolation, mine is the same. I gave up trying to do it after a week of head banging. It's not that important to me as I only need to read the vfat disk and it does that perfectly.

Just a thought - A long time ago I once had trouble mounting vfat at all but I realised it was NTFS!!

It is a vfat, not a NTFS. I don't touch NTFS because linux can't write to it.

Can you give me some more information geordie?
What kernel version do you have, and what charset and codepage were you trying to load?
Was it a self compiled kernel?
