Can't see autofs folders until I chdir them

I'm using autofs to mount some smb shares on net. The main autofs dir is /net. The problem is that I can't see mounted dirs (/net/pub for example) until I explicitly chdir into them. Is there any workaround?

I've also heard about submount package. Can I mount samba shares with it?

Make a symlink to /net/pub.
