I'm worried my drive may be going bad. I have my root partition mounted under a single partition using ext3. Recently, I've started get access errors that look like this:

I'd like to get fsck to do a full check on startup, but I can't figure out how. I know not to run it on a mounted drive, so I'm not sure what to do. I boot off the Gentoo CD, but couldn't figure out how to get it to start the disk check. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

I discovered tune2fs, and got the fsck to run at startup. I gave no errors indicating that I had bad file, which I do. Certain files are just unreadable, and I don't know why that wasn't picked up by the disk check... |
