i8253 count too high! resetting..
i hae a hp pavilion z5500 laptop im trying to install gentoo onto using the 2004.1 live cd......all i get is that when i boot....i did a search on the forum and the only thing i came up with was trying to install from a knoppix live cd...well im still newbie to linux and i was just wanting to know if anyone knows a solution to this or if someone would explain on how to install from a knoppix cd....thx in advance =P |

ok 1 question i have is...when im in knoppix how am i supposed to unmount the cdrom and put in the gentoo 1 or am i just missing something here |

I think it's very dependent on which wireless... but I know nothing about it. I'm sure you can find whether your wireless is supported on these forums somewhere! _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |

ok this is what ive come up with so far...there is an option to do a knoppix toram but a problem that i have is that i dont have enough ram to load it from the ram....so im wondering if there is a way to maybe not load so much bullshit that knoppix does as in pointless programs with kde and such? so maybe i can cut the knoppix load to less than 512 mb |

I'm fairly sure you can start knoppix without kde - it would be one of the boot options. In fact (some googling later), try knoppix 2 cdcache when it boots. _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |
