I 'm trying to get my IEEE DVD Burner to work. If I plug it in, it will be recognised only as scsi_generic device, not as block device. However, a portable hard disk is recognized correct.
Here is the snippet from /var/log/messages: Code: |

I'm currently using 2.6.6-love4. I have an pure udev system.
I can't find an error here. What I have to do to get a block device for my DVD-RW ?
Thanks in advance and best regards

I think this is what's causing the lack of a block device... I used to have this sort of error with my usb digital camera until I worked out I needed scsi disc support. I know you've already got that, but are there some firewire options you haven't enabled?
Do you even need help on this one anymore?! I was just browsing the unanswered posts when I found this one... _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |
