Are the default options selected in the kernel the defaults that everyone sees, or are these based on the detection done when booting from the LiveCD?
For example I am configuring my networking and have found that the RealTek RTL-8139 PCI integrated card is enabled and no other is. Is this based on the initial probe?
How reliable is this probe, as I'm fairly sure I have an Intel Pro/100 VM integrated NIC. |
