Hello

I am having some trouble in emerging enlightenment themes. How can I emerge enlightenment themes?

Another thing, in this site/link

http://themes.freshmeat.net/projects/xanbase/

there is a theme which I just love. When I emerge the themes will it also be emerged? If not, How can I install the theme?

Thanks a lot. Have a good one. :D

Well i say.........
Code:
# emerge -s themes

And in the third\forth item, you'll find:
"Meta package for all the official Enlightenment themes"...

Guess what the package name is? Find it! :P Emerge -s themes

:D :D :D :D

PHK my man :D my friend, thanks! :D

www.you.are/the/man.html :!: :!: :!:

:):):) I was now looking at that stuff you told me about gkrellm and the search worked, it gave me a lot of stuff. Some are masked. That has to do with the programs stability right?

Next, Enlightenment themes, PHK =D have you checked the one I linked in the previous post? Xanbase? It's COOOLLLL dude =D

(PHK, fica bem my friend! És simplesmente aquele espectáculo! Dispõe, já sabes ;))

Code:
do {
   uses std;
   cout << gianni.Hug(PHK)) << endl;
}
while (exists(PHK);
// ;)

Check out my post here. That should help you with themes under enlightenment.

Unfortunately the xanbase theme is not included in the "ethemes".
Code:

$esearch -c etheme
[ I] etheme-Ganymede (0.16.7.1):  Ganymede theme for Enlightenment 16.7
[ I] etheme-BlueSteel (0.16.7.1):  BlueSteel theme for Enlightenment 16.7
[ I] etheme-ShinyMetal (0.16.7.1):  ShinyMetal theme for Enlightenment 16.7
[ I] ethemes (0.16.7):  Meta package for all the official Enlightenment themes
[ I] etheme-BrushedMetal-Tigert (0.16.7.1):  BrushedMetal-Tigert theme for Enlightenment 16.7

You can download xanbase and it's as easy as extracting the files to a proper directory etc. (check my post from the link above for more info)

:D:D:D:D Thanks man!

The X theme is very nice, just a bit too dark! :D You know i'm a gnome addict, and gnome fills all my needs!!!

But go ahead with Enlightenment, it's probably the most eye-candy one ;)

HUGZ FOR YOU MAAAAA MAN! :D

Lol, porta-te ;)

Thanks Impius Nex and PHK

I think I'm a Enlightenment guy myself :D

Impius, you used a command called
Code:
esearch -c etheme
I am not familiar with it, but I guess it only searches for stuff, and doesn't install them, right?

I'm gonna look for some gnome themes too, just in case ;)

Thanks again! Hugzzzzz[z]z[z]z

I use esearch for quicker searching of available ebuilds

Code:
emerge esearch

Check it out, it's a very handy tool.

Thanks Impius Nex, I'll check it out.
:D
You an enlightenment guy yourself? :wink: Cause I'm about to emerge epplets, because once I saw a screenshot of a small application that showed the stage the moon was currently on (and I'd like to have that to, it goes really nice with a theme I have here :D), and as I'm setting up my environment so I can afterwards worlk in it relaxed, I might as well set up everything nice and shiny right away, with everything I want. Do you use epplets? :D

Thanks, have a good one :wink:

I use a couple of eppets.

E-Exec - like having a "Run Command..." (like in gnome) menu, with a popup menu that stores past commands.
E-Time - Modifiable clock/date display.
E-CPU - CPU activity monitor.
E-NetFlame - Looks just like E-CPU, but monitors in/out activity on selected network adaptor.
emix - Volume settings.
E-Screenshot - screenshot taker, with optional delay timer

I guess you could say I'm an Enlightenment guy :o :D

awesome, man... I'll check those epplets out too =) I see that most of the applications also exist in gkrellm, right? =D

but then you aren't familiar with this epplet I mentioned, the one which indicates if it's full moon or any other moon state? (does gkrellm has it?) The picture of the moon appears and all, it's quite cool, expecially with this little theme here: (though it doesn't appear in the theme...:roll: )

http://themes.freshmeat.net/screenshots/24497/

I haven't got much time yet to fully explore enlightenment, but this theme in the link has icons in the desktop... I thought that in enlightenment you couldn't put icons on the desktop (I had the idea there wasn't even the concept of desktop in enlightenment, in whick, like in gnome or kde, you can put icons on). geezz, I'm really n00b around here... :oops:

but since this picture shows it, there is a way right? Does it have any speciat tricks or something of the sort?

Thanks a lot for the support :) keep in touch. ;)

I've never used gkrellm actually, so I don't know actually.

That would look pretty good.... :)

The latest versions of enlightenment do indeed support icons on the desktop. It is however not as simple a task as one would hope, but I'm sure ease of implementation will improve in the future. Until then this guide will have to do.

I have just started using Enlightenment (about 2-3 hours ago), emerged a couple of themes, namely BlueSteel and Ganymede and found a problem.

The Themes are emerged to /usr/share/enlightenment/themes, and enlightenment is looking for them in /usr/share/e16/themes, createing a symlink from the e16/themes folder using
Code:
ln -s ../../enlightenment/themes/BlueSteel BlueSteel
, sorts it out (well its in the menu, Ganymede gives me an error, any ideas on this?)

Has anybody else had this problem?

I'm running enlightenment-0.16.8
