I'm trying to run 'glxinfo' and 'glxgears' but it throws out this error:
Code: |
glxinfo/glxgears: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: cannot read file data: Error 21
|
Also when i try to emerge gle-3.0.1 which is needed for xscreensaver i get the following.
Code: |
....
checking for remove... yes
checking for shmat... yes
checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes
checking for glGetError in -lGL... no
configure: error: Cannot find required GL library
!!! ERROR: media-libs/gle-3.0.1-r2 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 365, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
|
'glxinfo' and 'glxgears' worked fine before i emerged 'ati-drivers', then found out my card doesent support them, then un-merged them.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I believe the file belongs to xfree86, or whatever X server you use. You can check by doing the following command, assuming you have gentoolkit emerged:
Code: | etcat -b /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 |
Anyway, it should be as simple as to re-emerge your X server.
Hope this helps... |

Unfortunatlly not as simple as that, i re-emerged 'xfree' hoping it would solve the problem. But no such luck..
and as for etcat:
Code: |
bash-2.05b# etcat -b libGL.so.1
Searching for libGL.so.1 in * ...
x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r5
bash-2.05b#
|
So you'd think a re-emerge would do
Thanks for you help, Ill post the soloution once i have it. |

I would, but i dont need the ATI-Drivers. For some reason they dident include support for the 7500 series. But i've finally got Direct Rendering working with the my Radeon 7500 M7.
