Hello! I'm the author of http://www.konstruktiv.org/q3jack/.
Does anybody need q3alsa? I suppose, I can make it in a couple of days. I also have q3jack-0.2 in the works, which has much less latency than artsdsp. If you're interested, please make me know.

i set my sound driver from best to oss in doom cfg (in my home dir) and i use alsa, works better than it did... _________________ Main:
Kernel: 5.4.38 amd64
RAM: 4GB
Lappy:
Macbook Pro 10.14.6

This http://fort.xdas.com/~kor/oss2jack/ could be an interesting alternative to q3jack. I still haven't test it.

Well .. i've finally found a viable solution for me :p
put in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 if you have a kernel 2.6 the next lines
snd-pcm-oss
snd-seq-oss
snd-mixer-oss
then chmod 777 /dev/dsp (need to be root)
reboot
and tadaaaa it works :p
