|
|
Ok,
The website I'm hosting runs apache2. I have generated the ssl certificates already and put them into /etc/apache2/conf/ssl. I also have the following entries in my apache2.conf file:
SSLEngine On
SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/conf/ssl/server.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/conf/ssl/server.key
I have also restarted apache2.
I am not doing virtual hosting, because the box hosts one site and will only host one site in the years to come.
Whenever I try to access web-pages on the site using ssl, I always get a message that says "403 Error: This pages is forbidden. You do not have permission to access ...."
Does anyone either
1) What I did wrong in enabling ssl?
2) What more I need to do to view pages while using ssl?
Thanks for any help you can give. _________________ -Rajl

er...I thought regular http worked...I tried restarting apache, and afterwards, regular http just produces blank pages...when I commented out the three SSL lines in my apache2.conf, http worked regularly again.
I still don't know how to get SSL working though, and it is really important to me because I am running squirrelmail and would like to have the session running over https/ssl
Thank yuo for your help. _________________ -Rajl

Anyone able to answer my question? All the tutorials and forum posts and howto's off of google only deal with virtual hosting, which I am not doing (at least I did not configure it). _________________ -Rajl

I do have exactly the same problem. On my machine, http works fine but https keeps showing this forbidden error. |
