I just emerged the new release of xorg-x11, everything is working just fine, there seems to be no difference in performance or behaviour.

Anyone knows about the advantages of this new release?

Wow, a lot of fixes in this release, thanx for pointing me to the ChangeLog (never have taken a look into this file before).

It was definitely the right decision to go for xorg-x11

Wouldn't make any sense, just perform

Code:
emerge sync
less /usr/portage/x11-base/xorg-x11/ChangeLog

it ist saying to me it wants to install xfree.

i am currently just giong ahead with it (cos i need it to work asap)
so i'm just gonna keep my eye out

i think the program that needs it installed is xterm-191..

i think ne who - cos it wants virtual-x11 in world.

so i dont know

i'm just gonna have to ctrl+c if it tries to install xfree.

its currently installing xorgx11,

but like a month ago when i tried installing xorgx11 it never wanted xfree

why is it saying this?

xterm also uses virtual-x11, so there should not be any problem. Since I installed xorg-x11 the very first time, there was not a single attempt from any application to install XFree again. I'd either reemerge xorg-x11 or inject XFree.

It's not compiling here, with GCC 3.4. It doesn't find an #include (#include <linux/autoconf.h>).

Why?
