|
|
My DVD drive has suddenly stopped working and I know its not a problem with the device it self, as i can boot from it and it's detected by the LiveCD.
The device had disappeared and I've recreated it with:
Code: |
/bin/mknod --mode=666 /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd b 22 0
|
The device now looks like this:
Code: |
brw------- 1 smces cdrom 22, 0 Jun 10 13:57 /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd
|
Yet when i try to mount, i get:
Code: |
mount: /dev/cdroms/cdrom1 is not a valid block device
|
I think it may have something to do with the Time-Stamp field, as my CD-RW has '1970' in its place. Also on the LiveCD the device I've recreated also has '1970' in the Time-Stamp field...
I hope that clear enough :p, Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks |
