i've tried searching the boards for the answer, but is there any reason why we're moving from 2.6.6 to 2.6.7 so fast? there was a huge time gap between 2.6.4 and 2.6.5, after all, and the same between 2.6.5 and 2.6.6.
also, is whatever the reason for the quick update the same reason why gentoo-dev-sources is still at 2.6.5? |

If you look at the CHANGELOG for the 2.6.7rc3 kernel at The Kernel's Homepage then you know that the 2.6.7 kernel isn't offically released and so far accroding to the latest portage only reflects the rc3 not 2.6.7 so Gentoo knows it isn't out yet as an official kernel.
As far as the gentoo-dev-sources question...I really don't know, it has been at that level for quite some time and I look forward to the 2.6.6 release although I am currently running the 2.6.7-mm-r2 kernel. _________________ Folding@Home User 285941 |
