Hi,
I am having some severe problems getting cpufreq working on my Sony Vaio Z600TEK notebook (European model, it would be a 505 here I guess).
I have ACPI and CPU frequency scaling activate in the kernel, following the instructions on http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~uxhz/gentoo/power-management/
I have everything complied into the kernel rather than via modules, but that shouldn't change much. ACPI seems to have no noticeable errors during startup, at least I don't see any:

This is an older type model which only supports two frequency settings, 700Mhz and 550Mhz. I have the right Southbridge drivers selected (440BX) and everything else seems fine too. Furthermore, I can recall that with a 2.6.3 at one time I had problems changing the frequency, although I did it a different way, one that I can't recall anymore...
anyhow, my problem is that no cd /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ is created, the cd /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0 directory is completely empty.
I've also checked the BIOS... it's all set to OS control and no Plug and Play OS... that's about all I can set there...
Any suggestions at all?
