I'm using mplayer 1.0_pre4 on a Gentoo install that's only a week old at most, though I had this exact same problem on my old gentoo system.

If you try to play a realvideo file, it crashes with:

Code:

Cache fill: 0.00% (0 bytes) REAL file format detected.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: demux_open

The realvideo libraries are in the win32codecs package and are being detected at compile time. I have tried replacing them with different versions from the mplayer site and re-emerging but it does not want to work.

Any ideas?
