hello
I have this weird problem. Every 5 secs something is written to the disk (the hdd led turns on). I can't figure out what makes this strange behavior.
Any ideas? I'm running 2.6.5-gentoo-r1. Not very sure about that, but i think this started when i switched from 2.4 --> 2.6 _________________ Beat your dick like it owes you money |

Check your process lists (top, ps ax) to see if anything unusual is running. Look for things using CPU time when you're not expecting them to be doing anything.
Also you can get a list of all files open by processes using lsof. The output is a little ugly, but it may help. _________________ Underwater photo gallery
