I have a strange problem with my cable internet connection. Everything works fine until I try to use p2p software, specifically giFT, xmule and bittorrent.
When I start any of these programs, I lose my internet connection completely at what seems like random intervals. A simple "/etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart" won't do it, I have to actually reset my modem by unplugging it and then doing "/net.eth0 restart".
Sometimes, the dhcpcd daemon dies and I have to restart that too. I'm pretty sure this isn't related to my ISP because this problem doesn't exist when I run these programs from Windows. Anyone have any ideas?
