xmms troubles

i'm having a lot of troubles with xmms lately and i cant figure out why, i used to use it all the time with no problem.. anyway, as soon as i run xmms, i get the following:

http://bugs.xmms.org and fill out a bug report.

I've tried remerging several times but nothing seems to work. My sound works fine, I'm using the OSS emu10k1 module, mpg321 works without trouble. Any ideas appreciated.

dont install xmms-alsa .. just use oss emulation

I had the same problem a little bit ago. My problem was that one of the modules wasn't working (I think it was ALSA as dvNuLL mentioned before). My solution was to run emerge -s xmms and get rid of everything except for xmms itself, then add the fancy stuff like crossfade in later.
