I'm _still_ working to get a good install of gentoo. Lately, I've started getting "Spurious 8259A Interrupt: IRQ7" during the install for no apparent reason. I haven't touched the hardware, but just the last few attempts at installing, I've gotten this message once during each install. Googled for it and it appears I've nothing much to worry about (it's just the kernel telling me it got an enexpected message, which during the install process, isn't neccessarily out of the norm)... but I'm curious as to what's sending the interrupt, and wtf I've got set to IRQ7 ('cuz I didn't set that variable?)?!?!?

OK, I didn't want to, as it would bork the install, but I wasn't that far into it anyways...
rebooted, got into BIOS... IRQ7 apparently is my Onboard Parallel port, which I currently have NOTHING plugged into? Parallel port mode is set to "SPP" FWIW.... I can do SPP, EPP, ECP, ECP+EPP, or Normal.
