Hello,
i installed CVSWineX with a script (GetCVSWineX) and that worked, but when trying to start it, i get this message:
Code:
$ cvswinex

FuddFeatures:
Reinsert default registry: cvswinex --reregister
Install .reg with regapi:  cvswinex regapi <regfilename.reg>
Install .reg with regedit: cvswinex regedit <regfilename.reg>
Log to file:               cvswinex log <normal params>
         eg:               cvswinex log -debugmsg=+ddraw,+err -- hl.exe -console

Could not stat /home/max/c (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C:
Invalid path 'c:\windows' for windows directory: does not exist
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
This is (supposed to be) '/home/max/.cvswinex/config'

The error is fairly obvious, you have to create your config file, as the default one shipped with cvswinex thinks that the fake windows drive is at /home/max/c , which does not exist.

If you need some help setting up cvswinex you may wish to take a look here

Is it possible to use my wine-fake-windows (.wine/fake windows)?

I changed the cvswinex-config to this and still get the same error:
Code:
[Drive C]
"Path" = "/home/max/.wine/fake_windows"

You're getting the exact same error? Then it must not be using the config file that you specified. Could you post your entire config? There may be something else in there that isn't correct or is conflicting. You edited /home/max/.cvswinex/config?

Well there you go, it would appear that you didn't save the changes you made properly because "Path" is still set to "/home/max/c".

:lol: you beat me to it.

This is probably because you are using a wine fake hard drive, it doesn't have all of the system files that winex does. You should head on over to www.frankscorner.org and under the winex-cvs howto download the fake winex drive, just extract it and grab the system files.

Okay, a little bit of searching, and with a similar error it was suggest to look through your config, and set
Code:
"ClipSpaceFix" = "N"
, under the section d3dgl. Not sure if it works though, I'll keep looking.

Okay now I'm stumped 8O

I have googled for this and seems like it goes hand in hand with international keyboard layouts, although nobody seems to have fixed it. Here's a simple test to see if that is true. Edit your xf86config file, set your keyboard layout to the default 104 key u.s. layout, see if you still get the error, if you do, just change the layout back to german.

Okay, complete stab in the dark but why not, I saw at least one reference in my search to a possible problem with installshield, so.....go to the howto cvswinex at frankscorner and install dcom98, it just might......

EDIT: just noticed in your sig that you are using an ati card, do you have the latest ati-drivers installed? I had noticed that I think everyone who had this problem had ati cards.

I saw that module fglrx wasn't loaded and emerged the drivers and get this:
Code:
# modprobe fglrx
Segmentation fault

Ah ha now it all falls in place. You may wish to take a look here to make sure that you set up your ati drivers properly.

One little question: How can i add one little option to the kernel without having to recompile everything?

I don't think it's because of the international keyboard.

I have Steam with CS 1.6 running on cvswinex.
Everything works great except that I don't have a mouse pointer in the menu's (in-game it works perfectly)

When I do "cvswinex STEAM.exe" I get
Code:
tomas@NoCTuRNaL Steam $ cvswinex STEAM.exe
fixme:keyboard:X11DRV_KEYBOARD_DetectLayout Your keyboard layout was not found!
Using closest match instead (Belgian keyboard layout) for scancode mapping.
Please define your layout in windows/x11drv/keyboard.c and submit them
to us for inclusion into future Wine releases.
See the Wine User Guide, chapter "Keyboard" for more information.

Then after a while a lot more messages starting with "fixme:", but everything seems to be running fine. So an international keyboard layout is not neccesarily the problem.

Hope I Helped :)

PS: I'm running things on a ATI Radeon 9800Pro, driver version 3.2.8-r1, and use a fake drive in winex.
