Got gentoo installed but...

when it loads everything it comes up with the prompt

justin@localhost justin$

how do i get gnome working?

Follow the instructions here http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gnome-config.xml. This will take you a while.

well the link doesnt work at all. Maybe you need some more backgroung on where im at. Ive installed everything. I boot linux through grub and it works however instead of booting into an invironment like gnome it comes up with the command line above. Please if someone would take the time and type out the steps for me to load gnome from the command line listed above, i would be eternally greatful/

Did you start xdm?

(/etc/init.d/xdm start --or-- rc-update add xdm default)

Did you set DISPLAYMANAGER=gdm in /etc/rc.conf ??

The extra dotr at then end made the previous one go nowhere.
