I've never been able to boot from my cd-rom drive, is there a way to boot from a floppy to load the system and then read the disc? I've looked around the Gentoo site for a boot disk solution but I was unable to find one. Any suggestions??
System Specs:
PIII 450 on Abit Be6 Mobo
Creative 6x DVD-Rom drive
128 PC100 Ram
10 gig hd |

Paging phong...phong please pick up the white courtesy phone...
Have you seen Installation from a boot floppy HOWTO? The basic procedure should not be version-specific. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Thank you, thank you... I'm fully aware of how much I rule. Might as well give him the direct link to the howto.
Some of these "forum docs" (not just mine, there are easily a dozen or more absoutely invaluable HOWTOs out there) ought to be integrated into the "official docs" methinks. I really don't want to harass the developers on the subject right now - they're busy enough getting 1.4 ready - but maybe these will be future features. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish.
