I tried to use a webmail site that uses the Java plugin. I downloaded the plugin as prompted, and now get this error whenever I start mozilla/firefox/any browser/any version
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/local/firefox/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so [/usr/local/firefox/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: __vt_17nsGetServiceByCID]
Anyone ever seen this before? Any ideas? _________________ I wanted to be a pimp when I grew up. Turns out I became a computer nerd. Go figure. |

Try to use the other one that resides in the ns610-gcc32 directory. |

Thanks for the reply, heres what I found:
I have a ns4, and a ns600 directory at
/usr/local/firefox/plugins/java2/plugins/i386
I copied the java lib from ns4 to ns600, restarted firefox, still no go.
I deleted that file, went to the site, and downloaded the Java 2 vm plugin, and lo and behold, it downloads, installs, and a new web page comes up saying "install successfull"
But when I go Tools -> Extensions, all that shows up is DOM inspector, no Java VM, and I still get the lib error on firefox startup.
I may try and re-emerge firefox. _________________ I wanted to be a pimp when I grew up. Turns out I became a computer nerd. Go figure. |
