|
|
I've done some searching, and I can't seem to find anything like this...is there a GTK2-based Samba browser, kinda like what Nautilus can do except without all the GNOME dependencies? (I use FVWM =P) I don't really mind doing everything command line, but it gets kinda tiring after a while trying to explain to my roommate why I can't do this 'simple' thing that she can do in Windows =P Or is this something I should add to my "To Code" list? =) Thanks! |

If GTK-2 is not that much of a requirement, you can try these too:
xffm, the XFCE File Manager is quite nice. Howerver it also has some dependencies and I believe you can't mount shares with it.
The samba code of xffm however, is based on xfsamba, which does let you mount shares quite nicely, and i've found it to work a bit better than LinNeighorhood |

LinNeighborhood isn't GTK2 ... it's ass ugly, no offense ^_^ Hehehe...
Thanks for the suggestions, though...maybe I can take a look at the source to xfsamba and write a nice GTK2 GUI wrapper for it or something.. =) |

"Xfsamba is now GTK2! And is called Xfsamba4." |
