Hi,
I haven't needed to post much because I often find answers by trawling through all of the posts already in place, however I cannot find the answer to this problem I am having.
I have a Compaq R3003 laptop with an ATI 9100/M IGP video card for which I cannot initialise DRI. It is using 128Megs of onboard ram.
I have Xorg running, AGPGart and ATI-AGP running as modules that DMESG shows as loading and recognises the video card. DMESG actually prints the full name of the card and the chip id - 5835.
X however does not recognise the card unless I use the 'radeon' module at compile time of the kernel.
This provides 2d fine but lousy (almost none) 3d, glx gears is about 200, yes 200, if I am lucky.
Can anyone help me with this? I would love to get 3d working, any help that could be given would be appreciated.
The ATI Drivers do not recognise this card at all so I have unmerged those as they seem redundant for this problem.
Cheers! |
