|

The 2.6.7 gentoo-dev-sources seems to have a problem on my box. It's a Gateway M350X laptop. I've tried 2.6.7, 2.6.7-r3 and 2.6.7-r5. If I don't disable the hyperthreading feature from the bios of my laptop, I get a blank screen when I try to boot it. Nothing more, just a blank screen after grub.
I've tried playing with the ACPI settings, since that made a difference in the 2.4 series, but to no avail. I've also tried playing with the SMP settings, but that hasn't done any good either.
This is irritating because I don't have any information to report along with this bug. Obviously I can't capture what's going wrong in any way.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is anyone else having this sort of problem?

Interesting, because when I didn't compile power management into the kernel at all, I got the same issue. _________________ I used to drive a Heisenbergmobile, but everytime I looked at the speedometer, I got lost! |

I'm having a similar issue. Whenever it boots with ACPI enabled, it locks. If I use acpi=off, it boots but there is only one processor when there should be 2 (hyperthreading). _________________ Meh. |

I had the same issue. I think maybe hyperthreading support isn't ready yet. ![Wink ;)](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ I used to drive a Heisenbergmobile, but everytime I looked at the speedometer, I got lost! |

Weird because 2.6.5 has no issues at all. _________________ Meh. |
