hi,

i bought a usb2.0 hdd (trekstor 200gb). i can mount the partitions on the drive and reading and writing is possible, but after some time it hangs with busy led on. (using gentoo-sources-2.6.5-r1) lsusb tells me that the usb-2-ide controller in the drive is one by genesys logic.

this is my log:

i found this on the forums https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1253657. i tried the patch on vanilla 2.6.7 but it did not fix the error.

does anyone got a solution for this? possibly another kernel-sources? (mm-sources?)

thx for any help!

not that it stops the system hanging, but does restarting the hotplug service give you back the ability to use the disk?
