Gee guys. What's been going on? It was down for nearly 18 hours? What's up with that?
What was wrong? Obiviously the database died. Do you all run Gentoo on this server?

P.S. - I just noticed this at the bottom of the page: "Most users ever online was 104 on Tue Oct 15, 2002 4:06 pm" Maybe that's what brought it down... _________________ ServerMotion |

Heh, yeah I saw. Is that article about a desktop PC available anywhere else? I would have liked to read that. _________________ Sometimes it seems things go by too quickly. We are so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take the time to enjoy where we are.

"/.ed" = "slashdotted" as in www.slashdot.org - lots of people trying to look at the silentpcreview site at once. _________________ Sometimes it seems things go by too quickly. We are so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take the time to enjoy where we are.

Heh, I was wondering if this was the culprit. I saw the story on /. and though 'Hmm... where have I seen that site name before?'
'Oh #!$!@.'
Interestingly, it took quite a while after the story was posted for the forum to sink to its knees - great job guys.

Oh ok. Can anyone tell me what you all run on the server? Gentoo? And what kind of hardware is it?
Haha... I went to slientpcreview: Session initialisation failed. initialisation is spelled wrong! hehe.
