Hi,
i'm looking for a good motherboard with RAID. Lookin around I found this one:
http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=1702&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=US
Cheap and nice :p
The only doubt that I have is about the raid ide chipset: Hightpoint 371
http://www.highpoint-tech.com/hpt371.htm
Does the 2.6 kernel support this as a RAID?
/usr/src/linux/drivers/ide/pci/hpt366.c supports it but I don't know is only as a IDE controller or as a RAID too.
In the forums I found that a few people have trobles with it, but no so big deal. Also there are drivers from Highpoint, how about these?
Thanks _________________ I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. if it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not Because it doesn't like me... |

the 2.6.5 kernel doesn't support highpoint raid...yet?? --patches? -->upgrade to 2.6.7?
and the highpoint-tech.com drivers are only for the 2.4 kernel
they don't even have beta version for 2.6.x. |
