Hello,

I need to edit couple of video files (at the moment in wmv format, but I can convert them if necessary), but don't know much about decent video editors for Linux.

I don't need any fancy-pants multimedia features, but I would like to be able to do some basic editing ("Ok, let's drop that scene away" etc). Is there a relatively simple program available for this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Hi,

You could try kino or cinerama but don't expect too much, they are relatively young.

I use vmware with premiere and find it very good

Ok, thanks. :) Will give them a try. I know about the Premiere already, but a full-Linux solution would be extremely cool, since I don't need any cool effects this time.

Kino just about works. It's quite simple editing wise.

For simple cutting avidemux might be enough. It's similar to virtualdub for windows.
For more complex works I prefer Cinelerra.
