I have a nice little Iomega 120GB external HD that worked great with 2.4 kernels using firewire. When I tried 2.6.5-gentoo support for this drive was gone, so I went back to 2.6.3-gentoo and had no problems. Now that 2.6.7-gentoo is "stable" I gave it a shot, and am happy to report the drive works very well with the new kernel.
I compiled SCSI disk support, SCSI emulation, and SCSI generic into the kernel, and OHCI 1394, Raw ieee1394, and spb2 as modules. When I tried the SCSI drivers as modules it didn't work. |
