When I try to dial in to my ISP with my winmodem, the modem adds an extra number or two... Is this the actual modem itself or is this just the driver version I got for the 2.4 kernel? It doesn't SHOW the extra numer(s), you can just hear it dial them in with the actual one... |

Might be an area code. What dialler are you using? |

I'm using wvdial. I checked the number over and over. Even changed it a bit and it still adds a number or two. No need to put area code since it's local... -- 1:01 AM -- Okay... This may seem a bit weird, but I need to know if there is a way I can delay the way a number is dialed... If there is, I'll show you my plan.
My modem dials like this
Fake number: 234-4567
The way my modem dials: 234-454567
When I try three numbers:234-4
If I can delay the last three digits, I should be able to put the number like this:234 (delay) 567
Modem will dial:234-4567
If there is a way to delay, maybe this can go out to help other people with the same problem. (If the 3rd digit is the same as the 4th.) |

I guess that you must have already solved your problem, but this will be useful for others with that problem (which I shared)
In my opinion, the problem is with the slmodem-2.7.14 driver. It does dial the wrong numbers, and even when you can force it to dial the right number, it won't connect.
I installed the 2.9.7 driver
Code: | emerge "slmodem-2.9.7" |
After I installed it, my modem worked fine. _________________ Algunos son humildes porque no les han dado la oportunidad... |
