when i download the gentoo for i686 iso file,but i don't know how to
create the boot disk?can anybody tell me the detail?Thanks. |

wugaih you cant boot off the cd?
I would like to know if you can start the install proccess of disk, as my scsi cdrom doesnt boot, borrowing an ide cdrom drive to do the job  |

Have you seen the boot floppy howto? Booting from the CD is ideal, but the smart boot manager I mention in that article is a good alternative too if you have a buggy bios. If that still doesn't work, installation from a boot rescue disk such as tomsrtbt works well too. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish.
