how create the boot floopy?

when i download the gentoo for i686 iso file,but i don't know how to
create the boot disk?can anybody tell me the detail?Thanks.

wugaih you cant boot off the cd?

I would like to know if you can start the install proccess of disk, as my scsi cdrom doesnt boot, borrowing an ide cdrom drive to do the job

Have you seen the boot floppy howto? Booting from the CD is ideal, but the smart boot manager I mention in that article is a good alternative too if you have a buggy bios. If that still doesn't work, installation from a boot rescue disk such as tomsrtbt works well too.

Search the forums for install from floppy. It's been discussed many time before.
