I have Gentoo installed but it isn't as fast as I had hoped. I installed it from Stage 3 and I was wondering if reinstalling with Stage 1 would speed it up. But I have lots of programs installed and have changed a lot of settings so is it possible to do this without losing all that? |

You could try doing an emerge -e world; This recompiles a lot of stuff. Someone here let me know if this is wrong. |

Indeed, emerge -e world will give you the same result as starting with stage1... |
