Trying to emerge sources. I triend

emerge gentoo-sources
&
emerge delelopment-sources

Both turned up this error:

checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See 'config.log' for more details

!!! Error: sys-apps/module-init-tools-3.0-r2 failed
!!! Function econf, Line 365, Exitcode 77
!!! econf faild

I don't know where to find the config.log file so I can't even try that. Any help would be much appreciated...

as root, try, 'udpatedb' then 'locate config.log'

What GCC are you using?

This is a fresh install. I haven't even rebooted yet. I don't know how to check gcc version. I figure it may be my CFLAGS but I don't know why... I'll locate the config file now, maybe I can turn up more info.

[edit] Locate didn't find the config.log. I got another error.

warning: locate: warning: database /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db' is more than 8 days old.

[/edit]

I'm right now re-emerging portage

I'll see if this works.

It seems to have been the CFLAGS.
