Hi Guys,
I've an existing gentoo box connecting directly to the internet via adsl and it will connect to internet automatically upon boot up.
I have a new computer (completely empty) and i want to install gentoo on that computer too and I want it to get internet connection via the existing gentoo box using a common hub. I have not yet decided to use a DHCP or a static IP for this new computer and I don't have a DHCP server on my existing gentoo box.
So now's the question, what software(s) should I emerge? Say if I prefer using DHCP, what are the list of software that I need to emerge and how should I configure them, if I want to use my new computer to play network games (Counter-Strike), use Gaim, ftp and internet browsing.
[Internet] -- adsl connect -- [Existing Gentoo] -- hub connect -- [New Gentoo]
Sorry for the openness of the question because I'm a newbie to setting up local network with linux. Any bit of help will be highly appreciated.

Why not just set the eth.whatever interface to start at boot and specifiy an ip? _________________ The realOTW: http://forums.realotw.org/index.php
