nvidia upgrade problem

I'm using currently the stable version of nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx
(nvidia-kernel-1.0.4496-r3)
Because this version didn't work with love-sources 2.6.7 I decide to upgrade to this ones:
media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.5336-r4
media-video/nvidia-glx-1.0.5336-r2
Everything seemed fine, but at the end of booting at the moment it switches to x (loading kdm) the screen turned grey and keyboard didn't respond anymore, happened both with kernel 2.6.7 as 2.6.4
iIreverted back to the stable version and kernel 2.6.4 works fine again
What did I forget or did wrong?

I am not sure but from what I have read in the forums and bugzilla there seem to be several issues for some users with the latest version of the nvidia drivers. I seems only nvidia can fix it.

I also updated the kernel and had to update the nvidia drivers (the stable version does not work with 2.6.7). I have also problems with the suspend and off dpms state in my LCD screen
