|

I'm currently trying to get linux to install (second try, messed it up the first time). I'm trying to set up the make.conf with the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS variable.
Since I'm using an athlon XP processor, I set it to
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86", but when I get to the chroot part of the installation guide and run env-update, I get an error:
!!! INVALID ACCEPT_KEYWORD: ~x86
I'm trying to set up a dual-boot system, using three partitions (hda7, -8 and -9 for gentoo). I'm installing a stage1 tarball from a live-cd.
Could anyone help me find out what's going on here. I'd quite appreciate not having to start all over once again. |

Looking at the error message (if you've copied and pasted it) then you've missed the S off the end of KEYWORDS |

Nope, there's an 'S' on the part in make.conf. But the error message has no 'S'. |

After searching a bit more, I found a thread on the matter here:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=116849
It's funny how they always seem to show up AFTER you've given up searching and posted a new thread :(. Sorry about that. I'm just going to follow the advice in that thread and forget about the accept_keyword for now. |
