I've been trying to trouble shoot a trivial but annoying error in Konqueror.
If I go to http://www.theinquirer.net , I get a little popup message saying
Code: | Open 'http://65.119.30.1...125theinquirer.swf'?
Type: application/octet-stream |
I usually hit "cancel" and continue browsing. The Inquirer website is the only website that does this. I assume this has something to do with a Flash animation, but when I look in the KDE File Association control panel, I do have a mimetype for Shockwave Flash and it's associated with *.swf files.
Any ideas? _________________ I'm only hanging out in OTW until I get rid of this stupid l33t ranking.....Crap. That didn't work. |

Hopefully, additional reports of the same problem will result in answers.
In addition to www.theinquirer.net, I'm seeing this with http://tech-report.com/, http://www.hardocp.com/, http://www.amdzone.com/.
No such problems with Mozilla or Epiphany.
Now as long as it only happens with advertising I'm not too concerned, except for having to click Cancel every I change pages on those sites. On the other hand, my ability to see flash animations on other sites is surely affected. Could someone give a pointer to how to get a fix on which animations work and which do not.
Thanks for any tips. |
