smc2532w-b configuration?

well i have the card and when i boot the 2004.0 and .1 disk i have selected both gentoo and smp with the add on of dopcmcia. after booting i select ifconfig, nothing. so i tried ifconfig wlan0, nothing. then i did net-setup wlan0, no such device. so i did modprobe prism2_cs and i get nothing. how can i fix it so my wireless card works for the install?
