riesco a fare partire quake3 ma non mi viene giu la console premendo \ e poi non mi carica la cfg ( q3config.cfg ) messa in baseq3 come mai?

la console di quake sotto linux si "tira giù" con la tilde (~)

No, funziona anche su linux 
Cmq puoi far si che te la apra con il tasto "\" facendo:

non va!
ho provato altgr + ì e non mi apre la console ,allora a questo punto vi chiedo dove trovo la cfg? come è chiamata su linux? io mi ricordo che in windows era in baseq3 e si chiamava q3config.cfg ma su linux non ce.

la prima cosa che ti posso suggerire è scoprire su un terminale quale sequenza di caratteri ti da la tilde: ALTgr+ì o ALTgr+0... dipende molto anche dalla keymap che hai
il file di configurazione è nella tua home dir in:

peach tu sei un mito!
ora ho capito che cazzo era che sbagliavo!
in poce parole io copiavo la cfg di quake3 in /opt/quake3/baseq3 , invece dovevo copiarla in /root/.q3a/baseq3
